Four Organizations to Receive California Award

SAN DIEGO, Sept. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Four California organizations will be recognized for their workplace excellence by the California Council for Excellence. CCE, which administers the Malcolm Baldrige Award emulation for the state of California, will recognize Sonoma County Water Agency, Santa Rosa; the Long Beach Unified School District's Personnel Commission, Long Beach; Ditech Communications, Mountain View; and, the Label Division of G-3 Enterprises, Modesto. The award recipients will be honored by CCE on September 23, 2005 at the San Jose Marriott.

In recognizing the four winners, CCE president and CEO Tom Hinton said, "Each of these organizations has demonstrated its commitment to performance excellence by completing part of the rigorous California Baldrige Award criteria. This is a testimony to their strong leadership, employee involvement, and process management." Hinton added, "Exceptional organizations don't just happen. They are a result of visionary leadership and a commitment to daily improvement."

The Long Beach Unified School District's Personnel Commission and Ditech Communications will receive the California Prospector Award while the Sonoma County Water Agency and the Label Division of G-3 Enterprises will receive the California Challenge Award.

The California Awards for Performance Excellence emulates the national Malcolm Baldrige Award, the nation's highest honor for workplace excellence. The CAPE awards are presented annually to companies and organizations that demonstrate continuous improvement and meet the performance standards established by the national Baldrige Award competition. Since 1994, over 120 California-based companies, government agencies, healthcare facilities, educational institutions, and non-profit organizations have been recognized by the CAPE program.
