SANS Inc. Announces Sony Virtuoso(TM) Grant Opportunity for Educational Institutions

NORTH BRANFORD, Conn., Sept. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- SANS Inc., the developer and exclusive licensor of Sony language learning software solutions, announces the SANS 2005 Sony Virtuoso(TM) Education Grant Program for middle schools, junior/senior high schools, colleges, and universities in the United States and Canada. The recipient of the SANS 2004 Sony Virtuoso Grant Award was Landmark College in Putney, Vermont.

The Grant Award is an exclusive Sony Virtuoso Digital Language Lab or Virtuoso ASL (American Sign Language) option valued at over $50,000. Sony Virtuoso Instructional Control Software is an all-digital, multi-media, software-based language learning system that is easily installed and compatible with most existing PC networks. The software's unrivaled features and incomparable performance as a teaching tool make it the language learning system of choice of the most forward-thinking, progressive schools around the world.

In conjunction with the Virtuoso Grant Program, SANS introduces a new component of its digital language learning product suite designed specifically for teaching American Sign Language. Using digital video capture and recording, students can develop the visual and gestural communication skills that are the essence of ASL. All of the "audio communications" that are fundamental to an audio language lab exist in the ASL lab in the form of "video communications."

Schools may apply for the Grant and get complete terms and conditions by going to http://www.sansinc.com/virtuoso_grant2.html. All applications must be received by December 31, 2005.
